The latest Experian Hitwise data is out and http://www.accorhotels.com is once again the highest ranking hotel website in the country, making Accor the leading online player.
Accor attracts a combined 40% of all hotel website visits in New Zealand via it's main http://www.accorhotels.com site and the popular Accor brand sites combined. This makes it both the largest and the top ranked online hotel operator in New Zealand, with a wide lead over rival hotel groups including Intercontinental Hotels Group, Millenium Hotels, Heritage, Hilton, and Rydges.
Aggressive digital marketing, and a solid local investment in search and display advertising as well as TV and outdoor advertising has seen Accor enjoy 30% year on year growth in website visits in New Zealand alone.
Of particular note is that Accor’s mobile app, and the mobile version of it's sites, have recorded over 10 million unique visitors worldwide in the last 12 months. The travel and hotel industry is being transformed by mobile, and Accor expects the rate of mobile growth to only increase with the introduction of the new accorhotels.com multi-brand application available for Android, iPhone and Blackberry operating systems. Their market leading mobile website allows users to book nights at over 3,500 Accor hotels in more than 90 countries around the world.
Vice President Accor New Zealand and Fiji, Garth Simmons, said “We are thrilled with the growth in our online channel, which we attribute to the strength of our digital team as well as the increased investment in key levers. Online bookings are booming and we have experienced month on month revenue growth from mobile bookings which are up 200% year to date, and we foresee this trend to continue.”
