Nationwide Garage Sale Fundraiser

The first location for the Nationwide Fundraising Garage Sale for Jacqui Scott has been confirmed as Melville, in Hamilton.  A nationwide garage sale is being held on Saturday, January 18, at 8am to raise funds for Jacqui Scotts lifesaving surgery.

Jacqui is a 61 year old woman who was brutally attacked in her home in 2006, resulting in such severe internal injury that she required reconstructive surgery. However, the surgical mesh implant has eroded into Jacquis bowel and bladder, causing severe and debilitating pain. ACC has accepted her claim, however there is no surgeon in New Zealand with the expertise to carry out such a complex procedure. Jacqui must travel to the USA by March 5.

A fundraising site was set up: http://www.givealittle.co.nz/cause/jacqui  but is still well short of the $200,000 needed. Meanwhile Jacqui is fast losing hope. So a Hamilton mother and daughter have set up a Facebook event:https://www.facebook.com/events/269324933215377/ in the hope of stirring enough national interest and raising the funds needed for Jacqui to have her surgery and carry on with her life.
