O’Connell St Bistro and Louis Roederer Champagne are uniting to give diners a truly memorable occasion.

A menu of carefully prepared dishes is being created to match the outstanding range of Louis Roederer wines; one of the last great independent and family-run Champagne houses. The evening will carry diners through the finer points of Champagne and food matching at this exclusive event in the restaurant’s private dining room on Friday 9 May.

O’Connell St Bistro owner, Chris Upton, says in recent years dining out has become more of an everyday activity.

“The restaurant market is constantly changing and now is a really exciting time as a true foodie culture takes over and eating out becomes more common place. However, this event is about reminding people how to turn an evening out in to a real occasion,” says Upton.

Each of the five courses, matched with Brut, Rose and Demi Sec wines will be introduced with an explanation of the Champagne and the matching dish.

Diners will also experience a particularly special dish matched with Cristal, a Champagne created at the request of Tsar Alexander II of Russia and one of the world’s most famous and highly respected prestige cuvées.

The evening will be hosted by Chris Upton and Eurovintage representative Ben Longhurst.

Tickets cost $195. To make a booking, call O’Connell St Bistro on 09 377 1884 or email info@oconnellstbistro.com.
