July’s CRC Speedshow will feature a new area for the public to sell their competition or classic cars or motorcycles.

Dubbed the Park ‘N’ Sell zone, the new area offers around 45 owners the opportunity to have their vehicle featured on the CRC Speedshow website, www.speedshow.co.nz, for the month prior to the show and for the vehicle to be displayed in the designated area during the two-day show.

“With more than 35,000 people expected to attend this year’s CRC Speedshow, our Park ‘N’ Sell participants can present their vehicle to this targeted audience of car enthusiasts,” says Ross Prevette, managing director of Australasia’s largest annual automotive and motorsport show.

“We have elected to offer this opportunity to owners of competition or classic vehicles as these categories don’t appear to often have the chance to display their vehicles for sale at organised events such as CRC Speedshow.

“Space is limited to around 45 vehicles, but we hope the new Park ‘N’ Sell zone creates yet another interesting reason to make sure the dates of this year’s CRC Speedshow, namely 19 and 20 July, are marked as ‘must go’ on your calendar.”

The fee to register for the CRC Speedshow Park ‘N’ Sell zone will be $50 and provides a month-long website listing, the vehicle display space at the show and one adult general admission ticket for both days of the show.

“We’re looking forward to seeing a great array of race cars or bikes, karts, speedway racers, off-roaders and classic cars and motorcycles in the Park ‘N’ Sell zone. Each vehicle needs to be at least a rolling chassis, even if it’s a work-in-progress, and we’ll have full terms and conditions on our website very soon.”

Prevette says registrations will soon be open and anyone wishing to be notified when the registration process is available should contact the Park ‘N’ Sell coordinator by sending a message via the show’s Facebook page or emailing theteam@speedshow.co.nz.

Prevette adds: “This year’s CRC Speedshow is shaping up to be an absolute beauty and the biggest yet. It physically covers over 30 per cent more space than last year’s show with the addition of the Classic Cover Insurance Classic Show, the inaugural New Zealand Indoor Off-road Championship (NZIOC) for radio-controlled, 1/10th scale electric racers hosted by the North Shore Radio Controlled Car Club, and the Park ‘N’ Sell zone.

“The Ideal Wheels live action arena features a fantastic timed supercar challenge, a start-up and burnout from Karl Boniface in the Castrol EDGE nitro flashback nostalgia funny car and Steve Zahorodny with his 6000 HP racing jet funny car. Always popular is Sunday’s parade lap around the arena by the 150 participants in the Meguiar’s charity hot rod cruise, and then there’s the Castrol EDGE/Teng Tools Custom Show, two huge halls of prime automotive attractions and a heap of activities, competitions and entertainment for kids, big and small.”

The CRC Speedshow runs at the ASB Showgrounds, Auckland over the weekend of 19 and 20 July 2014 with five display halls, hundreds of vehicles on display, opportunities to meet racing stars and automotive experts, fun children’s activities and top-class entertainment in the Ideal Wheels live action arena.
