Diver fails to surface

Emergency Services are searching the area 5kms off Makara Beach Wellington looking for a female diver that failed to surface .

Two helicopters, the Mana and Kapiti Coastguards along with Two private vessels and the Police launch are assiting in the search .

The diver failed to surface after 40mins Her diver's sausage has been recovered.
Conditions are described as calm with little wind or swell.
