Police launch homicide Investigation after flat fire

At approximately 2.30 am on Saturday 8 December 2007 Police attended a block of flats in Selwyn Street, Christchurch. 

A flat at this property was on fire. 

The Fire Service was called and extinguished it. 

A brief examination of the flat established that there was a deceased person inside the address. 

The deceased has not been positively identified at this stage and next of kin are still to be located and advised. 

A Homicide enquiry has been launched and Police are following a positive line of enquiry.
