Rahui placed on sea near area when body found

The Tenths Trust is asking divers, fisherfolk and shellfish gatherers to respect a three-day Rahui in the Boom Rock area off Wellington's coast where the body of a missing diver was found today.

Police Maori Iwi Liaison Officer Clive Puna says iwi have asked for the Rahui as the area where the woman's body was found is considered sacred.

The name of the diver will be released as soon as next of kin have been advised.
