The amazing Brookfarm story started all the way back in 1991 when Pam and Martin Brook purchased a rundown dairy farm with the dream of producing healthy, quality foods.

To eradicate the weeds on the farm and restore the land, Pam and Martin planted 4500 macadamia trees and 30,000 sub-tropical rainforest trees and eucalypts.

“By creating Brookfarm our mission was to incorporate macadamias into foods that people eat every day.  To create products of the highest quality that showcased the health benefits and delicious taste of the macadamia nut, “ says Martin Brook, the co-founder of Brookfarm which is located in northern New South Wales.

It took 15 years of hard work nurturing the land for the first commercial crop of macadamias to be harvested.  Brookfarm was built on the core values of passion, dedication, patience, community and family.

Brookfarm produces a range of internally acclaimed macadamia based products such as Muesli, Porrij, Bircher, Macadamia oil, Walkabout Mixes and Brookfarm bars.

“We really wanted to create a different range of macadamia based products other than the usual chocolate coated, roasted and salted nuts. It still took over two years in intensive research and development launch the first two mueslis,” adds Martin.

The two mueslis developed by Brookfarm are still amongst the most popular products in their delicious range. Brookfarm is famous for its quality Gluten Free product range like their new gluten muesli which is a scrumptious blend of 16 premium ingredients. 

All Brookfarm products are based on the highest quality nuts, grains and fruits.  “We work directly with the farmers as we are passionate about supporting and giving people real jobs and real futures within the farming community,“ says Martin.

Brookfarm has won numerous awards for both its outstanding products and business management. These include 30 medals at the Sydney Royal Show and the Royal Hobart Show, Gold at the UK Great Taste Awards, Silver Sofi at the USA Specialty Food Awards (listed as one of the top 4 oils in the USA, we were competing against Imported European & USA Olive Oils), Telstra State and National Business of the year in 2007, NAB Rural Enterprise of the year in 2010 and finalist in the 2011 Farmer of the Year Awards, 2013 NSW Regional Business of the Year for 2013 Young Manager of the Year (for Will Brook, Production Manager) and Regional Employer of Choice Award. 

 

“Equally important to all of the awards is the daily feedback we receive from our customers on their enjoyment of eating a delicious, healthy and quality product, “adds Martin.

Recently Brookfarm announced New Zealand Celebrity Chef Jimmy Boswell as its first New Zealand ambassador.

“I am very excited about my appointment as a Brookfarm Chef Ambassador. I have been using their wonderful products for a few years now and I am looking forward to developing yummy recipes with the oils,” says Raglan-based Jimmy Boswell.

The Brookfarm range of products are sold throughout New Zealand in New World, Pak n’ Save, gourmet delis and health food stores.
