Stabbing in Wainuiomata

Lower Hutt Police are dealing with a stabbing that occured in Wainuiomata at about 2.10am this morning. 

The suspect left the scene just as police arrived and was involved in a police pursuit.

The pursuit lasted about 10 minutes before it was stopped on the approach to Wainuiomata Hill Road.

The suspect has been taken back to Lower Hutt police station for interview. 

The female victim is in a serious condition and has been taken to Wellington Hospital. 

At this stage it is not known what the connection is between the suspect and the victim.
