Rotorua property owners should take advantage of improved sales activity says Len Pemberton, from McDowell Real Estate Ltd Rotorua.

Real Estate Institute of New Zealand reported a whopping 171 residential sales in August this year in Rotorua, which is even more incredible when you consider that in 2014 Rotorua real estate tracked between 60-70 sales per month.
“Rotorua property owners can take heart from this virtual 'landslide' in improved median sales activity,” advises Len Pemberton, from McDowell Real Estate Ltd Rotorua.
Properties are being snapped up quickly in Rotorua with properties selling not just in days, but hours, as well which is partly due to the flood of out of town enquires. “When did Aucklanders fall in love with Rotorua. Well, the answer is quite clear, forever!” adds Len.
“You only have to park up on State Highway 5 in -for Rotorua to see the numbers of vehicles with mountain bikes attached to their respective roof racks, literally hundreds upon hundreds. Start spreading the news. Auckland's in crisis. Aucklanders prefer Rotorua for their leisure time activity,” adds Len.
Though it still has a way to go to top the figures achieved in sales activity in the mid 2000', which was around 200 plus per month, it is definitely a good idea to keep an eye on the rising figures.
“Rotorua is an outstanding city to invest in. In some ways it is a 'fool’s paradise' because the average home sits around $271,000. Yes, that's right! You can still buy brand new homes for around $400, 000,” said Len. “Counter all this information with the staggering prices of houses in Auckland and the affordability of Rotorua homes pales into insignificance.”
“Take a hard look at investment returns and now do the figures on rental investment stock held by all the agencies. If that doesn't get you excited, feel your pulse you could be dead. Just kidding, come and check Rotorua out, you won't regret,” adds Len.
