Water restrictions remain for Stratford
Water restrictions remain in place throughout the Stratford District, despite the wilder weather which has hit the region in the past few days.
With rising river levels and reduced water consumption, the pressure has come on Services Asset Manager Mike Oien to lift the water restrictions. “The restrictions will stay in place, for now,” he said. “The situation is being reviewed every 3-4 days, so it may change. But for now, the restrictions remain.”
The wet weather has only been around for three days or so, and just three days of fine weather will put river levels back in danger.
“In wet weather conditions,” Mike said, “water restrictions represent no great hardship to users. With a bit more rain, we may be in a position to lift the restrictions.”
