School Grateful for Sponsorship

The principal of a small Waikato school says PTA fundraising and sponsorship from local businesses is vital for the school.
Kiwitahi School, a rural school 11km south of Morrinsville, held their second annual Ambrose Golf Tournament Fundraiser last Sunday, 15 May, at Walton Golf Club in Morrinsville.
A major sponsor of the tournament was Hamilton’s 4Guys Autobarn. 4Guys CEO Monte Wells says schools are always worthy recipients and he was happy to contribute to the fundraiser.
“Kiwitahi is a great little school in one of the Waikato’s important farming communities,” says Mr Wells.
Kiwitahi School has been operating since 1913 and currently has a roll of 30 students.
Principal Jordan Palfrey says he is pleased with the success of this year’s fundraiser, which was organised by the school’s PTA committee and attended by around 100 people.
Money raised by PTA fundraising each year goes towards various things needed at the school, for example iPads or teacher aid support. Mr Palfrey says this year the money will be put towards helping pay for new sun shades.
“4Guys was kind enough to sponsor one of the holes by paying 500 dollars for that hole, which is obviously a huge amount of money so we’re really grateful to them for that,” says Mr Palfrey.
The Walton Golf Club hosted the event and donated the venue and course for the fundraiser, which was attended by around 100 people.
4Guys also displayed one of their new Nissan Titan XD Double-Cab Trucks at the Golf Club, which Mr Palfrey says was greatly admired by local farmers.
