Argent Motor Lodge's Links to the Racing Industry

“I’ve always been a part time breeder,” says Graeme.  “I sell horses and I keep a few fillies to race myself but my passion is for the thoroughbred breeding industry.”

Graeme is, of course, somewhat understating his involvement in the industry.  After all, one of his successes as a breeder was the 2007 Melbourne Cup winner, Efficient, which was the first horse since Phar Lap to win the VRC Derby and then the Melbourne Cup the next year.

 Graeme also bred Efficient's half-brother Guillotine, Avondale Cup winner Creil and the Te Aroha Breeders Stakes Winner Barinka in 2011.

Graeme’s other love is the hospitality industry.  He has had a successful career spanning more than 30 years, including owning the popular Cambridge Hotel in Wellington.
