RV Living - Quality Products for your Home from Home
Cambridge’s RV Living might be best known for the product that started it all, the memory foam sleep system by Duvalay, a Dragon’s Den success. However, Lynda and Chris Barker, owners of RV Living, say although the Duvalay is still one of their most popular products, RV Living has expanded hugely in the past year and now supplies a number of products for people on the move, whether they’re in motorhomes, caravans, campervans, boats, horse floats or even backpacking.
“Duvalay was our first brand,” says Lynda, “and now we represent seven brands from across the globe. We’ve grown significantly in the last year, since we moved to Cambridge.”
Originally from England but having lived in Auckland for the past 10 years, working in corporate roles, Lynda and Chris have enjoyed the lifestyle change of moving to the Waikato in May last year to focus and expand RV Living.
“We gave up our corporate lives,” says Lynda. “We both had great jobs in Auckland but we just thought, this is what we want to do – a complete change of industry, a complete change of life. We put all our faith into ourselves and our business.”
Lynda says the RV industry in New Zealand is experiencing huge growth.
“There’s a shift happening from people buying baches to buying caravans and RVs so they are more fluid and flexible on their holidays. They’re not restricted to being tied to one place”, says Lynda
As RV Living expands their product line, from the Ezyline Pegless clothes line and the Wine Hook wine glass holder to ingenious kitchen accessories from the German company, Froli, and RV Living’s own brand of made-to-measure bespoke mattresses and toppers, their popularity in these industries continues to grow.
“Our tag line is ‘Enhance Your Lifestyle While On The Move’” says Chris. “And that’s really what we are all about.”
