Ford Motor Company’s new 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350 boasts number of new features, including Ford’s first ever flat-crank V8 engine.
Available now at 4Guys Autobarn in Hamilton, the Shelby GT350, with its 5.2L V8 engine, quad exhaust and comprehensive instrument panel, is being hailed as a world-class sports car teamed with world-class technology.
The GT350 has made the “all-star” lists of a number of America’s top motoring magazines, including Automobile Magazine and Car and Driver.
“It makes sweet, vigorous love to the road,” said Eddie Alterman, editor of Car and Driver Magazine.
The Shelby GT350 features the MagneRide damping suspension system, which monitors and adjusts itself thousands of times per second, using magnetically controlled dampers.
As the Shelby GT350 has been designed to achieve super-fast lap times on road courses, Mustang has slashed weight wherever possible, including reinstating the flat-plane crank which has rarely been seen since the 1920s, when most manufacturers changed to the cross-plane crank to make a smoother ride with less vibration.
By redesigning the flat-plane crank, Mustang has come up with a lighter, higher-revving motor (redline of 8,250rpm) adding an exhilarating roar that will blow the sock off any Mustang lover.
The body of the Mustang Shelby GT350 has been designed with performance in mind, including features such as extra wide aluminium vented front fenders and a vented aluminium bonnet.
The interior features cloth seats with suede sport inserts and a race-inspired Shelby shift knob. The shift indicator light on the windshield allows the driver to keep both eyes on the road at all times.
