Man arrested after domestic firearms incident in Christchurch

At 2220hrs on Thursday the 13 December 2007 in Mattingley Street Christchurch, a male person was reported discharging a firearm inside a house during a domestic incident.

The firearm was an air rifle.

Police cordoned and contained the surrounding area and the Armed Offenders Squad was deployed.

The male came out of the address he was confronted by Police and taken into custody.

No shots were fired during the apprehension of the offender.

A 22 year old Christchurch man will be appearing in court on the 14 December 2007, he will be facing a number of firearms offences.
