Award winning musician Jayde Petaera brings her unique music style to the Waikato.

Award-winning Waikato based musician, Jayde Petaera has a unique blend of music style and lyric writing and is a must listen for any music lover.

Jayde (Aged 25) is a self-taught musician from Pamerston North/Pahiatua. Learning drums, guitar and singing through observing others.

Importantly, Jayde was the winner of 2016 ‘Lyric Love’ singer/Songwriter competition in November at the 'Nivara Lounge'.

Music and writing have always been a part of Jayde’s life since she was young "I never knew why then, it was just something i did.” adds Jayde.

Jayde is inspired by a broad range of music from old school R&B to 60's solid gold hits, to classic rock that you can hear resonating through her music.

“I have multiple song writing processes, mostly the chords come first then the melody, then the lyrics” adds Jayde.

Jayde is a musician who has a focus on giving back to the community. It’s her dream to travel and play her songs for a living while helping those in need. “My favourite part is having people relate to my songs which means essentially, They understand a part of me” comments Jayde.
