Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology recently announced its associate sponsorship of the Paradox Street Art Festival - Live & Local (28 March – 15 June 2017).

Paradox Live & Local, the brain child of Tauranga City Council, will showcase the work of local artists, including public wall paintings, food, music and dance, while encouraging interaction across the community.

Dr Leon Fourie, Chief Executive at Toi Ohomai, sees the festival as having a natural synergy for the tertiary institution.

“Toi Ohomai is home to an amazing community of artists, foodies, musicians and general art enthusiasts,” said Dr Fourie. “Paradox provides us with a great platform to help our students engage with the community and industries they will be employed in.”

Sarah Lewis, Sponsorship & Leverage Manager at Tauranga City Council, is delighted with the partnership and agrees it is a great fit for both organisations.

“We are excited to have Toi Ohomai as a partner because it enhances our capacity to reach a fantastic audience within the student body – having Toi Ohomai as a partner adds so much colour and vibrancy to the Live & Local programme of activity,” said Sarah.

Live & Local kicks off on Saturday, 1 April with a massive Festival Opening on the Strand. The public are invited to the Toi Ohomai hosted Chill Out Zone where there’s plenty of shade, bean bags, cruisy beats and giant colouring in.
