Gails of Tamahere’s newly-appointed head chef Richard Cox is champing at the bit to provide food fit for a queen this Mother’s Day on Sunday with the buffet options for those attending. The buffet servings start at 9am, 11.30am and 1.30pm respetively which provide ample options for all guests to treat their Mums to what Richard can offer.

“Mother’s Day is a wonderful day to celebrate the person who brings everything into their life. It is very much a family-orientated setting and I am delighted to have the chance to deliver families an experience which they will remember for a long time.”

Richard Cox has formerly worked serving the Royal Family, meaning that he understands what is required to produce food of the highest quality. While he does not want to give too much away, he is promising some tasty delights for guests this Sunday, May 14.

“We are calling it a brunch buffet,” says Richard. “What we are wanting to do is showcase local product and show a few different styles. There will be a blend of Spanish, Italian and natural Kiwi flavours on display. All of what we use is free range and locally sourced wherever we can get it.”

Mother’s Day will be the first chance Richard Cox has in serving guests of Gails of Tamahere, having recently started with the business. His international culinary prowess will be on display for all who attend, and it can surely be said that this Mother’s Day is a go-to for anyone wanting to treat their Mum to the highest quality food possible.

Attendees can expect quality as soon as they step into the setting at Gails of Tamahere this Sunday. A specially blended glass of Rose Petal Punch will be served to guests on arrival, followed by fresh fruits, pastries and preserves - hot ham on the bone, succulent turkey and cranberry, delicious salads and accomplishments and a range of brunch bakes and sweets.

After eating, guests can roam the beautiful grounds at Gails of Tamahere and enjoy complimentary tea, coffee and scones in the Colonial Hall. A musical accompaniment will be included.

To book your spot at one of the buffets put on by Gails of Tamahere this Sunday May 14, either email gailjones@gails.co.nz or call (07) 856-6609. Bookings are essential for this event.
