“It has world class facilities, with no expense spared in ensuring our bloodstock are raised to the highest possible standard,” says Tony.

Milan Park Stud began operations in 2007 and is fast becoming renowned in the New Zealand thoroughbred breeding industry for its 20 high quality broodmares.

“The broodmare band has all types with sprinters, middle distance and stayers,” Tony says.

Tony says Milan Park Stud will be offering quality yearlings and ready to run graduates this year, which will be suitable for buyers from New Zealand, Australia and Hong Kong.

The two principals in the operation are Tony, himself the key selector of bloodlines and breeder, and Grant Bennett who is the farm manager (formerly Westbury Stud) Grant also worked for Bruce and Maureen Harvey who are well known in the industry.

Tony says Milan Park Stud has very safe fencing to protect the valuable bloodstock, world-class facilities, top class soils and pasture with large acreage per paddock enabling plenty of space for the bloodstock.

The farm is ideally located in Cambridge and all of the mares are owned 100 per cent by Milan Park Stud.

Among the notable horses in Milan Park Stud’s portfolio have been Irish Fling, Aventador, Vickychardonnay, Savvy Dreams and Digital Fortress.

Key stallions bred to include Savabeel, Ocean Park, Sacred Falls, Pins, Rock N Pop and Tarzino.

The philosophy of Milan Park Stud is to breed the best to the best and take exceptional proven stallions and well proven mares. “There will be no expense spared in the pursuit of excellence,” says Tony.

The goal for Milan Park Stud is to keep improving on its reputation as a highly recognised and respected boutique breeder in the key bloodstock markets of New Zealand, Australia and Hong Kong.
