Food lovers rejoice! Leading Bay of Islands restaurant Provenir Cuisine & Cellar at Paihia Beach Resort & Spa have announced their mouth-watering new spring menu.

“The new menu highlights the incredible fresh and delicious spring time ingredients,” says Lyndsey Morrison, resort manager at the Paihia Beach Resort & Spa.

Featuring breath-taking vistas of the surrounding Pacific Ocean, Provenir Cuisine & Cellar is the perfect place for a special occasion. And now is the perfect time to go and sample their newly launched spring menu.

Start off with one of their delicious entries such as house shucked Orongo Bay oysters, Kiwifruit salsa, ginger coconut infusion or perhaps the half quail suvarov, beetroot three ways, romaine leaves, dried fruit and truffle jus will tickle your tastebuds.

You are spoilt for choice with the selection of mains at Provenir Cuisine & Cellar.

The twice-cooked lamb rack with herb crumb, rosemary glazed vegetables, sweet bread and anchovy cream is a deluxe twist on the old favourite lamb chop.

One of the stand outs of the new spring menu is the angus eye fillet, mushroom truffle, white onion puree, sautéed marrow and confit potato. “With superior flavour and a soft texture, these fillets just melt in your mouth,” says Lyndsey.

Get a taste of Italy with the Ravioli di Magro thyme and ricotta cake, buttered leek tagliatelle and crustacean cream.

Vegetarians are in for a treat with the Manuka honey confit swede, flame-grilled Portobello mushroom, braised baby vegetables and spiced seeds.

For those who have a palate for all things seafood, it’s hard to go past the pan fried market fish, eggplant kasundi, charred onion petals, chipirons, polenta cake and thai foam.

“We have an extensive wine list and cellar, show-casing the best of New Zealand wines, lots of which are right on our doorstep in Kerikeri.  Try our tasting menu with wine matches, you won’t be disappointed!” advises Lyndsey.

Chocolate lovers will be in sweet heaven with Provenirs Exotic Chocolate Entremet dessert. Featuring a coco and chocolate log, coconut tuile, dark chocolate sorbet all on a white chocolate soil, it’s a decadent delight that is hard to pass by.

Another dessert that might catch your eye is Provenir’s deconstructed Lemon Meringue Pie. Containing a black sesame seed sable, lemon curd, orange crumbed meringue and a yuzu and lime sorbet, you’ve never had Lemon Meringue Pie quite like this before.

Other dessert options include a delicious range of sorbets, a raspberry Craquelin petit choux and a range of local and international cheeses.

The resort’s luxury accommodation is a great place to return to and relax after exploring the wonders of the Bay of Islands. Paihia Beach Resort & Spa has rooms suitable for all types of visitors whether you are travelling alone, with a partner, with friends or with family.
