Taranaki health board apologises over abortion case

A woman seeking an abortion was told her baby had no heartbeat - only to learn months later that she was still pregnant, a health and disability commission investigation has been told.

This meant instead of taking a tablet to abort the fetus she had to have it surgically removed nearly two weeks before the legal termination limit.
