Year 13 Rangi Ruru student Anna Bruce has her school behind her as she waits to hear how she has done in the Wallace Secondary Schools Art Awards in Auckland.

Anna’s stunning self-portrait is one of  30 entries selected from 300 for the award and she is travelling to Auckland tomorrow (Monday) where the winner will be announced at a ceremony.

The exhibition of The Sixth Wallace Secondary Schools Art Awards runs from 12 Sep - 5 Nov 2017 in Auckland.

In the spirit of the long established and prestigious Annual Wallace Art Awards, The Wallace Secondary Schools Art Award recognises and celebrates emerging artistic talent in New Zealand.

“We are delighted for Anna. As the Head of Culture at Rangi Ruru, Anna is incredibly hard working and has phenomenal skills in a range of fields. We are proud to have her representing us,” says Leader of Faculty in Visual Arts, Kate Rivers.
