Spring is the time when many people are looking at booking a florist for their summer weddings  so The Floral Studio have some useful tips, which they will outline over this and their October press release.

Each week most florists will now be quoting on up to six or seven weddings for the coming summer season. Most florists will reply within 48 hours but here some useful tips to speed up the process.

Seek out some photos of arrangements you particularly like and send them with your inquiry. In this way they can give you an idea of price. Have  some clear ideas on colours of bridesmaids dresses, groomsman tie colour. It’s not necessary to have the venue booked but some idea, i.e. garden wedding, church or venue. Understand numbers in the wedding party, additional flowers for table arrangements, special flowers for mother and father of bride/groom and grandparents.

It’s a good idea to seek a quote from the florist six months prior to the date, and know what time of year you are going to be married. Ideally avoid periods of peak flower prices – these are normally Valentines and Mothers days. If getting married over the Xmas/New Year period, the range of flowers from growers and the markets becomes quite restricted as they all take holidays around this time.

Meet the florist – its really important to have confidence in their work, design and that they will deliver precisely what you want. If they have a retail shop you should go in  and visit them and see their regular design and the freshness of the flowers.
