Diversions in place after fatal crash

Police are currently at the scene of a fatal crash on State Highway Two, Mangatangi, in the Waikato region. 

The crash has occurred on the intersection of State Highway Two and Mangatangi Road and has blocked the road in both directions. 

The Police Serious Crash Unit is investigating. 

Although road diversions have been put in place there will be traffic delays and motorists are asked to delay non-essential travel in the region or seek alternate routes. 

Transit New Zealand has placed diversions in the following vicinities:
- For Southbound traffic; Follow SH1 past SH2 turnoff until Meremere, turn left on to Island Block Road, follow directions through to SH2.
- For Northbound Traffic; At Okaeria, turn left from SH2 follow directions through to SH1.
