New Zealand’s moving and storage specialists Conroy Removals have found a great tool to keep their staff connected. Workplace by Facebook was introduced as they continuously strive to build connectivity and engagement of their people across 11 branches and two countries. Workplace is a business-focused version of Facebook that is available on mobile and desktop. The company hopes to use this platform to allow its staff to communicate and collaborate more efficiently with a desire to enhance the overall customer experience they aim to deliver.

Since its launch to companies in 2016 thousands of organisations around the world have used Workplace. People have created more than 100,000 groups. The workplace is more than just communicating between desks within the walls of an office. Some people spend their entire workday on the go, on their mobile phone. Others spend all day out in the field, or on the road. For Conroy this will allow greater connectivity with their ship crews using Live video, share updates and newsletters with its branches. Since Facebook is an instantly familiar app, Conroy will be able to use Workplace to easily train staff on its benefits.

Conroy Removals will be able to use the best of Facebook at the workplace, including it’s basic infrastructure such as News Feed or the ability to create and share in Groups or via chat. News Feed can provide users with the latest updates from users within the Group. Since everything can be done in real time features such as Live, Reactions, Search and Trending posts will allow interactions between colleagues in different countries to brainstorm or follow along when there is a presentation by FB Live. Employees can watch from their locations, ask questions and interact in real time. They can create groups on specific topics and interests. Instant messaging, including text sharing and file sharing, will also be possible.

The unique, Workplace-only features that will be beneficial are dashboard with analytics and integrations with single sign-on, in addition to identity providers that allow companies to integrate Workplace with their existing IT systems. Companies can also interact with outside groups in a safe and secure way. Conroy has recognised that they will be stronger and more productive when staff comes together instead of being separated by title, departments and geography.

Australia’s leading moving and storage experts Conroy Removals has a complete door-to-door service to make shifting with goods, pets and family easier. The company has branches in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Townsville; their fleet of removal trucks and professionals can handle every move in key Australian cities. Conroy keeps up to date with technology to improve efficiency. With the introduction of Workplace they hope to limit the volume of emails generated daily and solve business problems.
