Escaped prisoner recaptured

At about 7pm yesterday, Mangere Police located Kane TEAHU, who had escaped from the Department of Corrections earlier in the day. 

He was located in a local carpark following information provided by members of the Mangere Community. 

He has been charged with escaping from lawful custody and assaulting two Corrections Officers. 

He will appear in the Manukau District Court on the 19th of December 2007.
