SIT Funding

Mayor Cardno said today she strongly supports achieving a constructive outcome that will ensure the future of SIT and its ability to develop and implement innovative quality educational initiatives for Southland.


Last week Mayor Cardno, as part of the Local Government New Zealand Executive, met with cabinet during which a number of issues concerning Local Government were discussed. Following this meeting Mayor Cardno met separately with the Prime Minister and Minister Hodgson and raised the concerns regarding SIT funding. Mayor Cardno agrees there have been areas of miscommunication which need to be addressed to achieve a positive rational outcome for Southland.
