Waikato region offers a range of excellent walking and hiking trails to suit all levels these school holidays, says leading Hamilton East accommodation provider, Aspen Manor Motel.
The school holidays take place from Saturday 29 September till Sunday 14 October.
With the new spring flowers in bloom, the team at Aspen Manor Motel have put together a list of their favourite walking/hiking tracks ideal for you to experience this spring.
Kauri Loop Track, Hakarimata Scenic Reserve, North Waikato
Kauri Loop Track gives you the unique opportunity to view native mighty Kauri trees up close. With babbling streams and picturesque waterfalls, this track will also take you through a grove of young Kauri, as well as Rimu and Nikau. “This charming bush walk is perfect for those who want to see some native trees,” says Aspen Manor Motel owner Grace Tong.
Hamilton City River Walk
For something a little closer to home, check out the Hamilton City River Walk. This scenic shared walkway and cycleway runs for 10km through central Hamilton, along the banks of the famous Waikato River.
