Solar power is rapidly becoming as efficient as it is economic – particularly with the arrival of the SolaX Power Station, which has recently been acquired by Kiwi solar specialists A&A Solar and Electrical.
“The SolaX Power Station can power 20 solar panels on the roof, with 300 watts from each one – giving you a total of 6 kilowatts in solar power,” says Andy Cooper from A&A Solar and Electrical, co-owner of the company along with Andy Mann.
“It also comes with a hybrid inverter which can be stored in the garage, and the batteries and inverter can be stored in the one place.
The SolaX Power Station is the first to be provided in the Waikato, says Dave Clarke from YHI Ltd New Zealand, the suppliers of the Power Station.
“The Power Station takes the solar power from the roof, and converts it to AC (alternating current) power,” Dave says.
“There’s also a battery within it that stores the excess energy from the panels on the roof and makes it available for later use.”
Dave says this distinguishes the Power Station, a new acquisition for New Zealand, from other forms of solar power technology, as its ability to store power for later use even gives it far greater versatility and efficiency.
“It’s one of the first two or three that’s been installed, and it’s definitely the first and only one in the Waikato. It’s available to all customers but A&A are the only ones who have bought and installed it so far.”
