The inaugural Toi Ohomai charity golf day raised more than $20,000 on Friday, 7 December 2018.

The event was held at Arikikapakapa Rotorua Golf Club, with all proceeds going to the New Horizons for Women Trust. The tournament saw more than 100 golfers from Toi Ohomai, local businesses and stakeholders across the rohe take to the course.

Toi Ohomai Chief Executive, Dr Leon Fourie said that the event was a great success and that the Institute will aim to build on this success for next year.

“We are thrilled with the response to our first charity fundraiser. The New Horizons for Women Trust was chosen for their efforts in supporting education, innovation and research for New Zealand women. We look forward to an even more successful event next year.”

Thanks to Gold Sponsors Skills Update Training and Education Group and Holland Beckett, as well as the many Silver Sponsors and supporters, the Toi Ohomai charity golf day was able to hand over $20,000 to the Trust in its first year.

Jenni Tupu, Chair of the Trust, said: “On behalf of the New Horizons for Women Trust, I would like to thank Toi Ohomai and their partners for helping us provide opportunities for wahine through awards for education and research. We are truly grateful for this generous donation.”
