Fatal motorcycle crash in Canterbury

There has been a fatal motorcycle accident occur at the intersection of Windwhistle and Wairiri Road, Selwyn District.

It appears that two motorbikes have collided killing one of the riders.

The other rider has moderate to serious injuries and been airlifted to Christchurch Public Hospital. Roadblocks are in place at the Whitecliffs end of Glentunnel and on the corner of Downs Road and Taitua Road.

Windwhistle road is expected to be closed until approximately 2100 hrs.
