Tauranga-based ethnic restaurant Great Spice Tandoori Indian Restaurant & Bar offer a wide variety of authentic and modern Indian dishes. Ranging from traditional Chicken Korma to contemporary Tandoori Chicken Salad, there is something unique for all food lovers.
With over 16 years of experience in the food industry, owner Khem Aryal’s secret to success is top quality food and excellent customer service. “We only sell food of the best quality with freshly cooked ingredients,” he says.
Khem credits his older brother Bishnu Aryal for establishing Great Spice in 2015 before recently setting up another restaurant in Papamoa.
Khem has been running Great Spice since early 2017 with the help of his wife Ganga Aryal. The power-packed couple happily share the workload with Khem in charge of the kitchen and Ganga managing all front-of-house duties.
The expert staff members at Great Spice are also extremely well trained in the field. “Our chefs have previously worked in 5-star hotels in Nepal and Dubai before coming to New Zealand,” explains Khem.
With a wealth of culinary talent all in one kitchen, Great Spice produces exquisite Indian delicacies. “The crowd favourites have been the classic Butter Chicken and Chicken Dum Biryani. And our most unique dishes include Chilly Garlic Prawn/Scallops, Lemon Honey Chicken, and Lamb Pumpkin Mushroom Curry,” says Khem.
Great Spice pride themselves on being one of the best fine dining restaurants in Tauranga. “Our customers are always praising our delicious food, friendly service, and stylish décor,” says Khem.
The fully licenced restaurant is located on Bureta Road with plenty of free parking available right outside the doorstep. After a hearty lunch or dinner, customers can enjoy beautiful scenic views of the sea on Harbour Drive only a short five-minute stroll away from the restaurant.
