Meet Yuri Reijmer, General Manager of the world’s leading industrial equipment manufacturing company Atlas Copco New Zealand. Fully equipped with talent and experience, Reijmer has achieved immense success over his nine-year long journey with Atlas Copco.
When and how did your journey with Atlas Copco begin?
In 2010, I started off as a Sales Engineer in the Netherlands. This role involved advising customers in all branches and at all levels about compressed air solutions. Within two years, I was promoted to Aftermarket Marketing & Sales Manager where I managed the main commercial objectives within the service organization.
In 2015, I became Business Line Manager Industrial Air, managing and controlling the sales actions & activities to meet the goals, consolidated gross profit, working capital, functional costs development and market contribution targets.
I moved to New Zealand on 1st September 2017 to take on the role of General Manager and grow the business here.
What were you doing before joining Atlas Copco?
I was Account Manager at Bosch for seven years in the Netherlands which is a global supplier of technology and services. So, I’ve been working in sales for a very long time now within the global industrial technology industry.
What are your favourite aspects of Atlas Copco?
Working with people is one of the most important things for me. I’m very passionate about achieving long term successes for everyone and being of great value to our customers.
What are some crucial values you like to enforce/encourage in the company?
Openness and transparency. I always strive to create a workplace where everyone is happy, engaged, and getting the most value out of being here. It’s also important to collectively develop a clear direction for the company.
What are some of your greatest memories or achievements with Atlas Copco?
A few years ago, there actually was no sales department in our Netherlands branch. My biggest achievement in the company so far has been starting that from scratch and building up the sales department in the service division over there.
What are some goals you have for yourself and for the business going forward?
I’d like for us to maintain our reputation of having happy customers and engaged personnel. As a company, we are also aiming for 8% annual growth by 2020 and to keep the momentum going for years to come.
