You can choose to arrive on the island via the scheduled South Sea Cruises vessel, which departs Port Denarau at 10am; alternatively, private vessels and water taxis are welcome – or go all out with a scenic helicopter ride to and from the beach club’s famous pier.

Meanwhile, on the island the friendly Malamala Beach Club team can prepare an exclusive space ready for your arrival – perhaps at one of the beachside cabanas or at a private spot on the island. Think her – or his – name written in the sand (which you can read from the chopper if that’s how you travel), champagne on ice and a delicious platter of pre-ordered nibbles ready and waiting for you.

A private butler will take care of your every need – in between dips in the resort-style infinity pool, laps around the island on the complimentary stand-up paddle boards or kayaks, a snorkel or ten in the crystal-clear turquoise waters or a few energetic leaps off the end of the jetty into the inviting ocean.

Following a snooze under a palm tree after sampling some of the treats on the delicious South Pacific-inspired a la carte menu that features seasonal, locally sourced ingredients where possible – plus a few of the beach club’s signature cocktails –you’ll leave the island sun-kissed and engaged, either by air or sea. Scheduled vessel services return to Port Denarau at 4.15pm and 5.15pm.
