Meet Bradley Bache, outstanding Service Engineer of the world’s leading industrial equipment manufacturing company Atlas Copco New Zealand. Managing a multitude of responsibilities at once, Bache is an exceptional team member playing a vital role in the business.

 

When and how did your journey with Atlas Copco begin?

My journey with Atlas Copco began in July 2013 when I was searching for a new job in the Auckland region after completing my role as a Refrigeration Technician at Tiger Brands back home in South Africa.

 

What are some of your main responsibilities in the business?

I have an extremely varied role here which requires me to take on a number of different responsibilities like mechanical work, servicing, and managing breakdowns. I’m also involved in all aspects of the air compressor work: mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration.

 

What are some challenges you face with your role and how do you overcome them?

Fault finding and maintaining a high standard of equipment. Keeping customers happy and keeping their factory running smoothly- these are all major challenges. We overcome them by actually listening to our customers’ needs while also advising them on what is best for their business.

 

What is your favourite thing about Atlas Copco?

The challenges. There's always a challenge when you're ready for it which means there’s always lots to learn. I also love the idea of playing such a vital role for customers and having a positive impact on their business.

 

What is your best memory with the business so far?

At the end of last year, I got the opportunity to travel to Malaysia for training for two weeks. That was a great experience! It was incredible meeting specialists in various fields from Atlas Copco, learning more about their jobs, and listening to them promoting the business in a positive way.

There was also an amazing sense of community. We were told we could contact other employees for issues with machinery and it just felt like there was support and we’re not alone. Everyone can work together to find solutions.

 

How do you see the future of Atlas Copco in New Zealand?

There’s definitely lots of potential for growth, expansion, and development. I believe as service technicians our role is to maintain exceptional performance and support Yuri (General Manager) with achieving business goals.
