New Zealand has finished third overall on the medal table at the ITF Taewkon-Do World Championships at Inzell, Germany.

A single gold on the final day helped the Kiwi team gain its placing after it had been within the top four nations for all of the tournament.

The gold medal was won by the junior girls team power in a top effort against some tough competition.

The winning nation was Argentina with 10 gold, 7 silver and 7 bronze and a total of 24 medals. Next was Poland on 6 gold, 11 silver and 12 bronze for 29 medals overall. The New Zealanders finished with 6 golds, 6 bronze and 10 bronze for a total 22 medals.

They were challenged by Norway who had the same number of gold and silver but three less bronze medals

The New Zealand team now return home with the New Zealand National Championships in July at Pulman Arena in Papakura the next big event.
