A recent, completely independent, glowing report on Malamala Beach Club exclaims that, “Arriving at the island is exciting in itself, thanks to the long jetty and white sand beaches you can see miles away from the boat. It feels like you’re approaching your own slice of paradise. Stunning in every direction with miles of turquoise sea as far as the eye can see”.

This reviewer went on to describe her warm welcome, then “walking slowly along the pier, taking it all in; swaying palm trees, the sound of the waves gently splashing the shoreline and the upbeat tunes drifting from the beach club’s main restaurant, pool and bar area”.

As she explained, Malamala Beach Club is just over two years’ old and the décor is fresh and contemporary, with lots of bright colours “popping against that beautiful blue sky”, and she found that the best place to hang about is around the infinity pool, which melkds seamlessly into the lagoon beyond. It is recommended you reserve a poolside daybed for the day, or there are beachside cabanas for hire dotted around the island’s edges, which are serviced by private butlers.

This particular reviewer was most taken with the cocktail menu, sporting seven handcrafted cocktails. Similarly, with the menu she practically raved over the Tuna Poke and Mochiko Chicken, both fresh and light but fitting, perfect ‘summer by the sea’ bites.

In examining what could be so different to relaxing on other beaches, she said that what stood out for her is the location – not too far from the mainland, but far enough to get that island feel. Add to that the superb food, the impeccable service, the friendly staff and the great facilities, especially the pool.

She finishes, “The beach club crew really do make you feel spoiled. There’s absolutely nothing else to stress about except whether it’s too early for a round of cocktails, or if you should go for another swim or paddleboard. My glass was never empty, my food arrived in a timely manner and I found the atmosphere classy and relaxing”.
