The majority of farmers are doing everything they can to keep their farm land healthy, beautiful and thriving and we should be supporting them says leading Taupo-based Fertilizer Company Uptake New Zealand.
At your next opportunity, take a drive out to our rural heartland and see all the hard work our New Zealand farmers are doing to keep our country clean and green.
“From plantings of native trees, fenced off waterways and blocks of old established bush our farmers don’t get enough credit for the positive impacts they have on our environment,” says Uptake owner John Davis who is a veteran farmer with a 20-year agricultural background.
The conservation efforts undertaken by these farmers are not only beneficial for today but our future generations will also reap the rewards.
“Despite some current public perceptions farmers do care about future generations enjoying clean environment and productive waterways,” adds John.
Uptake was founded in 1984 and has made the health and nutrition of the soil, the plants it grows and the animals that consume them its number one priority. “At Uptake, we have a strong focus on sustainability in everything we do,” adds John Davis.
In terms of applying trace elements, Uptake’s suspension application is more effective and less harmful to the environment. It is an effective and economical means of fertilisation. With suspension application you can easily evenly apply it on a full hectare which you cannot do evenly in granular form.
Uptake are enthusiastic about reducing the excessive quantity of chemicals that is being poured into the soil, plants and farm stock in New Zealand. “We believe that farmers can get excellent results which can be achieved without a needless excess of fertilizer,” adds John.
Farmers take a lot of pride in their properties and have a lot of respect for the environment, “so it’s about time we got behind our rural community and applaud the hard work they do every day,” comments John.
Uptake’s mission, as described by owner John Davis, is simple: quality over quantity. He firmly believes that the “more is better” philosophy is made redundant in the light of proven results; good nutrition passing from the soil, to the plants it grows, to the animals the plants feed. The benefits pass to the farmers themselves, and of course, to the consumers they supply.
