Toi Ohomai Joins Rotorua Community to Celebrate Business Excellence
At Toi Ohomai, we believe that hard work and achievements deserve to be celebrated.
That’s why we were proud to sponsor the Excellence in Primary Industries Award at the recent 2019 Westpac Rotorua Chamber of Commerce Business Awards held at the Energy Event Centre on Saturday, 5 October 2019.
As the Bay of Plenty’s largest tertiary provider, we have a vested interest in fostering innovation in our communities, helping all of the people within our rohe to succeed.
The awards provided businesses with the opportunity to benchmark their success against other local businesses, including the chance to see the important work taking place in other local industries.
Toi Ohomai Executive Director: Student Engagement and Experience, Patrick Brus, presented the award and spoke on how fostering the growth of Primary Industries is pivotal to the success of the region.
“At Toi Ohomai, we see many of our 12,000 students go on to work in the Primary Industries, year on year, therefore it’s a natural alignment for us to sponsor this award and to celebrate success within this industry.
“Also, by supporting these businesses to invest in innovation and advancing current practices we know this will play a vital role in local job creation and economic growth.”
Toi Ohomai Health and Safety Advisor Marie Dennis was a judge at the awards, and applauded the high calibre of entrants.
“There were a record number of entries for the awards this year, and the calibre of entrants were incredible. It’s safe to say that the local Rotorua business community is thriving and the work in space can easily be benchmarked as being some of the best in the country,” says Marie.
