"My dad past away when I was 13 from a freak motorbike accident.

"We were left alone and unable to have someone to provide for us.

"We not only lost the closest person to us, but we lost our future as well.

In the process of refinancing the family home, Dad was given advice urging him to consider covering his mortgage debt with a life insurance policy so if anything should happen to him the family home would not need to be sold. It was something that he had thought was important so the policy was put in place."

Courtney says that wise move by her father resulted in a good lifestyle that her family and her would not otherwise have had.

"It allowed me to go to University and to create a life for myself. I have had many opportunities to further my career and to not be burdened by some of the more difficult things in life. Losing him was one of the hardest things I have been through."

On the strength of her personal experience Courtney advises everyone to have insurance of some kind put in place.

"It is a very wise thing to do and means that your family is protected and given a much better life.”

"Accidents can happen any time and it is best to be safeguarded against them. I know a lot of people toss up whether it’s a good idea or not but when you live through an experience like I have, then you realise it definitely is."
