One in hospital, more injured after East Tamaki crash

AUCKLAND

At approximately 3pm this afternoon there was a serious vehicle accident at the intersection of Chapel and Smales Roads, East Tamaki.

Two vehicles collided which has left a number of occupants injured. 

One of the occupants is very seriously injured and has been taken to Middlemore Hospital in a Status 1 condition. 

The Serious Crash Unit is currently carrying out a thorough scene examination and as a result a number of diversions have been put in place.

Members of the public are advised to stay away from the area.

The diversions are at Kilkenny and Maghera Roads, Chapel and Banville Roads, and Chapel and Armoy Roads.
