18-year-old attacked at gun point

New Plymouth Police are investigating a sexual violation complaint which occurred in the early hours of 1 January 2007 in the Fitzroy Golf Club area.

The 18 year old complainant was taken to a secluded area where the offender produced a handgun and sexually violated her. 

She is currently recovering with family.

The offender is described as male dark skinned, 16-18 years old, thin build, 5'6-5'8, clean shaven.

Various witnesses spoken to have seen a person fitting this description around the Fitzroy Beach and Motor Camp area throughout new years eve.

He was wearing baggy long pants, with a dark coloured hooded sweatshirt or jacket.

He had a cap on under his hoody which had some type of design on it. 

This male appeared familiar with the Fitzroy area, in particular the Beach, Motor Camp, Golf Club and tracks surrounding.
