Serious assault in early hours of new years day

A 20 year old male was seriously assaulted and robbed by three males on Condell Avenue, Papanui in the early hours of New Years day.

Sometime between 2.15-2.35 am the male was assaulted from behind knocking him unconscious and causing serious head injuries that required medical attention.

The attack was unprovoked and of a cowardly nature.

The three male offenders are all described as Europeans and approximately 20 years of age.
