Monash University received three new fume cupboards in two of its Melbourne campus laboratories.

Aircare faced the challenge of fitting large sites of over 1500mm and even one with a roof-mounted scrubber and water tank.

Together with Aircare’s specialist subdivision TPE and several other subcontractors they took on the challenge to complete the project in four months.

The fume cupboards with the highly successful Ecosash Energy Savings Technology needed to be fabricated in the Wellington facility and transported over to Melbourne, due to high demands in Australian productions.

Aircare and TPE needed to electrically test and certify these fume cupboards and install benching into the university’s laboratories in a strict timeframe. The challenging environment, long hours of transport and narrow corridors and stairways of Monash university did not make the fitting of these new cupboards easy.

The project was completed ahead of time in 2013 with full NATA certification reports and within the university’s budget. The fume cupboards are now used by thousands of students yearly thanks to Aircare and TPE.
