The dollar firmed at the end of the week against the US dollar.  The world financial markets are being upset as the Russians require the oil they are still selling to Europe to be paid for in Rubbles!!  It has the potential to undermine the sanctions.

Wool:  Wool prices remain in the doldrums with minor market fluctuations that seem to come to nothing.

Beef, Sheep & Venison schedules: Schedules have eased across both beef & sheep meats in both islands.  The works are working hard to keep the killing processes operating as they juggle illness with “close associates” time off.

Dairy Prices:  Dairy commodities are strong worldwide and grain prices are limiting the shift back to dairying in Europe and the USA.  That is good news for NZ.

Again, we have seen the governments lack of support for the rural sector with diesel prices increasing and only a road user rebate on offer.  It is morally wrong. Contractors and farmers do not have to have road user charges for their off-road activities.  They should remove the ETS tax portion off all fuels as it is a corrupt tax to start with.
