Canterbury AOS callout

At about 12.04am on 19/1/08 Police received a call regarding a male allegedly presenting a firearm during a domestic incident in Woolston, Christchurch.

The area was cordoned and the Armed Offenders Squad were deployed.

There was one adult female in the house with the offender.

She has been able to leave the house and the offender has subsequently left the house on the instructions of police and was taken into custody without further incident.

An airgun has been recovered from the scene.

A 43 year old male will be appearing in the Christchurch District court in relation to presenting an airgun.
