Boy injured in quad bike accident

At 1.45pm this afternoon a 14 year old amle was airlifted to waikato Hospital with suspected pelvic and internal injuries after the quad bike he was riding on Whangamata beach flipped and rolled. 

The 15 year old pillion passenger managed to jump clear prior to the bike over turning and was uninjured. 

Immediately before the incident the bike had been seen driving in an erratic manner along the beach.
