Mobile dessert catering business Sweet As Bites joins NZ Business Connect

When Rosemary and Charnice met, they discovered they shared more than just a love of sweet treats. Between them, they found a common passion for creativity, hospitality and bringing people together through memorable food experiences, one that has since grown into Sweet As Bites.

Established in mid-2026, Sweet As Bites is a premium mobile dessert catering business bringing unique, interactive dessert experiences to markets, festivals, corporate events, weddings and private celebrations.

Founded by Rosemary from Hamilton, New Zealand and Charnice from Chicago, United States, Sweet As Bites combines two different backgrounds, cultures and strengths to celebrate the simple joy of fun, beautifully presented desserts. The pair wanted to create something that went beyond just serving treats and they have done just that, building an interactive experience where guests can personalise their desserts, enjoy something freshly made and walk away with a memory to match.

“We believe food has the ability to bring people together. Our carts are designed to be interactive, personalised and memorable, giving guests the opportunity to create a dessert they love while enjoying the experience of watching it come together,” said Rosemary.

As a new member of NZ Business Connect, Sweet As Bites is looking forward to building relationships across Aotearoa New Zealand while growing its presence in the local events and hospitality scene. They currently service both Hamilton and Auckland.

Behind the brand, Rosemary brings 13 years of hospitality experience along with a background in psychology and human development, supporting the customer experience and community connection side of the business. Charnice's background in reproductive science and laboratory operations brings precision, quality control and attention to detail, alongside a strong eye for design and presentation.

Looking ahead, Sweet As Bites aims to grow into a leading mobile dessert catering brand across Aotearoa New Zealand, with plans to expand into a multi-cart operation servicing multiple events simultaneously within the next five years.

Through its membership with NZ Business Connect, Sweet As Bites hopes to build new partnerships, connect with aligned businesses across the events and hospitality space, and continue growing its presence throughout the Waikato region, Auckland and beyond.
