AJ Hackett Bungy NZ Outlines Age and Weight Rules for Families Planning Trips

AUCKLAND / TAUPŌ / QUEENSTOWN — Parents planning family trips or days out in New Zealand can now easily verify which adventure activities are suitable for their children, thanks to guidelines published by AJ Hackett Bungy NZ covering its Queenstown, Auckland, and Taupō operations.

Every AJ Hackett activity has a minimum age limit, and all locations require signed consent from a parent or guardian for participants under 15 years old.

Minimum Age Guidelines

• Age 7+: The Auckland Harbour Bridge Climb has the lowest minimum age across all sites. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult on the climb itself.
• Age 8+: Queenstown’s Kawarau Swing and Zipride open at age 8. On the Zipride, riders aged 8 and 9 must ride tandem with an adult aged 20 or over.
• Age 10+: Ten is the minimum age for a bungy jump, applying to the Kawarau Bridge Bungy, Taupō Bungy, Auckland Bridge Bungy, and the Ledge Bungy. Auckland’s SkyWalk and SkyJump, as well as Queenstown's Nevis Swing, also open at age 10.
• Age 13+: The Nevis Bungy and Nevis Catapult in Queenstown require participants to be at least 13 years old.

Key Safety Rules & Spectator Access:

All under-15s require signed parental consent, adult supervision is required on site for children 14 and under at SkyCity and The Ledge, harness weight limits range between 30kg–45kg minimums, and free spectator access is available for walk-ins at Kawarau, SkyJump, and Taupō.
